Job Description
Job Title: Account Assistant – Construction
Reports to: Project Manager
Industry: Construction
Location: Nairobi
Gross Salary: KES 30,000 – 35,000
Job Purpose: Supporting the finance department, accountant, and management team by completing routine clerical and accounting tasks. Preparing budgets, maintaining reports, and completing basic bookkeeping and accounting duties for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
- Completing purchase orders.
- Managing payroll.
- Managing company ledgers.
- Coordinating internal and external audits.
- Managing day-to-day transactions.
- Recording office expenditures and ensuring these expenses are within the set budget.
- Assisting with various tasks, including preparing budgets, records, and statements
- Completing the year-end analysis.
- Handling accruals and prepayments.
- Sorting financial documents and posting them to the proper accounts.
- Resolving errors in financial reports and correcting faulty reporting methods.
Skills & Qualifications
- BSc in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Sec 2
- 2 years of experience as an accountant
- Analytical thinking skills.
- Good grasp of numeracy.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Data Entry; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent Payroll Experience.
- Experience in Balance Sheet Account Preparation.
- Strong Bookkeeping Skills.
- Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills
