The Kenya National Trading Corporation Ltd is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Fisheries &Co-operatives, mandated to act as a procurement agent for the government and participate in the promotion of wholesale and retail trade in order to strengthen the supply chain of essential products within the country. The Corporation is also mandated with the responsibility of supporting the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector through supply of raw materials, provision of consultancy services and identification of markets for their products.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this job is to undertake bookkeeping, accounting and reporting support duties, as guided by the financial policies, procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
I. Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

II. Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
1. Retrieve already archived vouchers within the division so as prevent loss of documents by ensuring all documents retrieved are returned promptly;
2. Participate in preparing payment vouchers, imprests and committal documents in accordance with laid down financial rules and regulations;
3. Capture data, maintenance of primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books, registers and preparation of simple management reports;
4. Receive duly processed payments and receipt vouchers for filing in accordance with the ISO standards;
5. Receive, record and sort documents delivered in the department for processing;
6. Draft, sort and dispatch mail and other correspondence documents to ensure efficiency in processing of documents;
7. Monitor and oversee project activities in the field to ensure proper implementation.
8. Maintain registers and an efficient filling system;
9. Archive and filling of all finance division documents. Job Dimensions:

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic qualifications

Diploma in Accountancy;
Accounts Technician certificate Final (ATD II)or equivalent qualification from a recognized institutioninstitution

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
Passed Part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination
or
Completed ACCA Fundamental Level or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
