CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an Institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, which is an Agency of the Aga Khan Development Network.

The Hospital is part of a network of health facilities, which includes Hospitals and Outreach Health Facilities across East Africa.

The Aga Khan Hospital is in an exciting growth phase and has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification, ISO 15189:2012 accreditation for laboratory services, SafeCare level 5 accreditation and is at advanced stage of attaining Joint Commission International Accreditation.

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has Outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa – Bay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet and Narok.

The Hospital is seeking to attract interested and qualified applicants to fill the following positions:

1. RESIDENT CONSULTANT NEPHROLOGIST

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/NEPH/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality nephrology services including managing patients with Kidney disorders or injuries.

He / she will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.


• Fellowship in Nephrology from a recognized institution.


• At least two years work experience as a Nephrologist.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Good public relations and communication skills.

2. RESIDENT CONSULTANT ENDOCRINOLOGIST

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/ENDO/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating hormone disorders and other problems relating to the endocrine system.

He / she will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.


• Fellowship in Endocrinology from a recognized institution.


• At least two years work experience as an Endocrinologist.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Good public relations and communication skills.

3. RESIDENT CONSULTANT PULMONOLOGIST

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/PULM/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The successful candidate will be responsible for treatment and effective management of conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes and the respiratory system, as well as the chest.

He / she will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.


• Fellowship in Pulmonolgy from a recognized institution.


• At least two years work experience as a Pulmonologist.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Good public relations and communication skills.

4. RESIDENT CONSULTANT NEUROSURGEON

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/NEURS/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The successful candidate will provide quality Neurosurgery services to both outpatients and inpatients.

He / she will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Neurosurgery from a recognized institution.


• At least two years work experience as a Neurosurgeon.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Good public relations and communication skills.

5. RESIDENT CONSULTANT UROLOGIST

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/UROL/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The successful candidate will provide quality Urology services to both outpatients and inpatients.

He / she will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Surgery from a recognized institution.


• Sub Specialization in Urology from a recognized institution.


• At least two years work experience as a Urologist.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Good public relations and communication skills.

6. RESIDENT CONSULTANT PAEDIATRICIAN

Ref. No: AKHK/MED/PAED/10/21

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The successful candidate will provide quality Paediatrics services to both outpatients and inpatients.

He / She will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital that promotes patient safety, clinical quality and contribute to the continuing professional development programs of the hospital.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master of Medicine in Paediatrics from a recognized institution.


• At least two years of post – graduate work experience.


• Must be registered / licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.


• Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists Council.


• Knowledge of PALS and experience in Neonatology will be an added advantage.


• Good public relations and communication skills.
