Logistics Officer Job, Kenyan Current Logistics Jobs,
Our client a leading chemical and allied products company is currently looking to hire a Logistics Officer.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a record of all outstanding purchase orders with external vendors
- Assist with any arrangement for transportation and forwarding services for all orders to ensure material is delivered as per schedule
- Expediting all critical orders with local subcontract vendors
- Reviews expediting schedules on all customer orders. Obtains and forwards information to the management
- Assisting on all all duty customs and tax functions, including certification and verification, drawback, and compliance with governmental agencies (e.g. KRA, Ports, etc.)]
- Applying For import declaration Forms
- Coordinates imports and exports
- Reviews freight rates: air, courier, and land
- Liaises with custom brokers for updated reporting procedures and valuations
- Assist in the preparation of landed costs.
- Lodge claims and follow up for settlements
- Track shipments, updating internal staff and customers on arrival Information and ensuring correct shipping documentation
- Ensure that all imports and exports are duly insured
- Assisting in stock taking and reconciling with online stock reports
- Planning of material should be given emphasis on FIFO method, storing material with ease of accessibility for physical stock take
- Managing containers from port to its final destination
- Monitoring Bin cards and are regularly updated
- Any other duty assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Business administration or Transportation; Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience working in the same position or equivalent.
- Experience in imports and exports will be an added advantage.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills.
