Mining Operations Manager- UGANDA

Our client is seeking a Mining Operations Manager.

Main Accountabilities:

• Manage all of the company’s mining operating activities in compliance with the company’s standards and directives;


• Implement and ensure compliance with HSSE rules in mining deposits;


• Manage the budget of all mining deposits in order to optimize operational costs;


• Ensure strict compliance of daily stocks through full reporting of reconciliations;


• Maintain losses and gains on bulk and packaged products within the prescribed limits of the company;


• Work to achieve the operational performance objectives


• Ensure good management of the emergency response plan and the medical emergency plan within mining depots in order to guarantee a system adapted to the needs of all staff;


• In general, implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) adapted to each operation.


• Ensure the integrity of assets for all facilities where the company operates and monitor asset maintenance to ensure more than 95% availability of equipment at all times;


• Coach, develop the performance of mining operations personnel in order to achieve the set objectives;


• Play a leading role in maintaining a high level of maintenance in all mining deposits


• Assist the logistics manager in monitoring transport operations within the mining area


• Establish production KPIs and conduct quality assessments


• Ensure all systems operate smoothly and align with our quality standards


• Any other duty assigned

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mining or Business Operations Manager or in a similar role


• 2- 3 years’ experience in a similar role


• Technical Qualification in Mine Engineering, Geology or equivalent preferred but not necessary


• Proven experience in HSSE and engineering and project maintenance work;


• Good leadership, supervision and team management skills;


• Good computer skills;


• Be customer satisfaction oriented;


• Have good interpersonal skills;
