Job Description
Position: Back of House (BOH) Trainer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Our Client, a fully-fledged restaurant specializing in delivering a relaxed and memorable dining experience with its headquarters in Kampala, Uganda is urgently looking to recruit an experienced an experienced Back of House Trainer.
The BOH Trainer is primarily responsible for training and guiding performance of all BOH employees at our client’s establishment.
He/she must work fast and with a sense of urgency, while being friendly and supportive to all employees.
In all assignments, the BOH Trainer will uphold our client’s standards and enable employees to execute their responsibilities at a high level by performing the following duties;
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures the highest levels of training standards at all Branches.
- Follows establishment’s processes and systems
- Supports the proper execution of all systems, and standards
- Adheres to scheduled Training Sessions and must be willing to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate.
- Supports identification and development of future leaders among all BOH Employees.
- Evaluates Employee performance honestly and completely
- Manages all administrative tasks associated with each establishment’s training before, during, and after the Training Sessions in a timely fashion
- Executes extended Training Plans
- Facilitating training classes, seminars, and working sessions
- Evaluating and developing targeted Employees
- Execute action plans
- Plan, design, implement, and follow-up on all projects as assigned by the establishment’s Leadership
- Serves as subject matter expert [SME] for BOH Training or other cross-departmental project teams
- Completes expense reports and other administrative duties as needed and in accordance with deadlines and the establishment’s requirements.
- Responds to e-mail, phone calls, and voicemails in accordance with How the establishment conducts Business
- Serves as a role model by demonstrating and upholding the establishment’s policies and standards
Key Competencies & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Beverage or any other related field from a reputable institution
- Minimum of 10 years’ Experience in a High-Volume Kitchen
- Must have worked in All BOH areas and have sound knowledge and practical capabilities.
- Must demonstrate thorough understanding of International Food Safety Standards (Minimum Level 2 – Food Safety Certificate)
- Energetic, enthusiastic and a passion for service.
- 2 to 3 years’ Sous Chef or Head Chef position desirable
- Training certifications.
- Assessor, Moderator Certifications advantages.
- Must be willing to relocate
