Position: Biomedical Officers (10 Positions)

Reporting To: Ward-In-Charge

Location: Migori/Homabay County

Contract Duration – 1 Year

Job Description

Ensure implementation of the biomedical component in DREAMS program, is in a standardized way using the defined strategy and achievement of set contractual and organizational targets. The incumbent will work in their respective areas of work to ensure the program is implemented according to the set standards.

Responsibilities

• Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating AGYW in the program, at the safe spaces.


• Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health


• Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive


• Routine STI screening and treatment of AGYW at the safe


• Offering Contraceptive Method Mix IEC (Information, Education and Communication) to AGYW.


• CMM (Contraceptive Method Mix) provision at the safe spaces


• Supporting in offering HTS services at the


• ALHIV (Adolescent living with HIV) viral load tracking in other


• Coordinating and collecting commodities (drugs/FP commodities) from MOH link facilities and Dices for continuum of


• Referring patients and clients to appropriate health


• Collecting and compiling clinical


• Identify best practices and provide input to improve


• Ensure implementation of and adherence to defined strategies for the program area in the wards.


• Develop monthly biomedical activity plans and share with the Ward-In-Charge and Program Officer supporting the Ward, to ensure targets are met and ensure


• Participate in accurate and timely data collection, reporting and utilization at the


• Identify emerging issues and opportunities from field visits and communicate back to improve


• Provide feedback to the Ward-In-Charge, Program Officer and Clinical Mentor on biomedical issues emerging from program implementation.


• Document and disseminate LVCT Health’s work in DREAMS – including abstracts, human interesting stories and

Qualifications

• Be a holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine/Nursing and registered by the relevant


• Have a valid practicing


• A training in HTS by NASCOP (added advantage).
