Job Title: Company Pharmacist and Pharmacovigilance Officer

Job Summary: Our client is a pharmaceutical company in Industrial Area. They are seeking to employ a very experienced company Pharmacist and Pharmacovigilance officer licensed by PPB and who will be responsible for maintaining standards through policies to ensure the organization achieves and maintains high standards of compliance.


Including collating and analysing product end users experiences to ensure satisfaction and positive results. Supporting sales growth through identification and registration of new valuable products in response to market needs and analysing/simplifying market intelligence reports on existing products.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Studying group pharmaceutical scientific and legal documents and ensuring they are up to date at all times.

  • Gathering, evaluating, organising, managing and collating information in a variety of formats.

  • Ensuring compliance with regulations set by all relevant regulatory bodies.

  • Maintaining familiarity with company product ranges and carrying out monthly and quarterly market intelligence surveys and relying the same to management and pharmaceuticals sales in charge with a summary technical input.

  • Planning, undertaking and overseeing product trials and regulatory inspections.

  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines.

  • Analysing complicated information, including trial data.

  • Offering advice about company policies, practices and systems.

  • Obtaining marketing permission with relevant organizations.

  • Outlining requirements for labelling, storage and packaging.

  • Using a variety of specialist computer applications.

  • Liaising and negotiating with regulatory authorities.

  • Providing advice about regulations to partner manufacturers/scientists.

  • Writing comprehensible, user-friendly, clear product information leaflets and labels.

  • Ensuring that quality standards are met and submissions meet strict deadlines.

  • Preparing documentation.

  • Apply for search/Preliminary Advice for trade names at Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI). After receiving application approval notification, make an application for advertisement and registration of the trade name.

  • Public relations with pharmaceutical professional bodies.

  • Source for new products and suppliers / manufacturers and introduce them to the market.


Pharmacovigilance



  • Recording and reporting adverse reactions received from healthcare professionals and consumers

  • Conducting in-depth interviews with patients and healthcare professionals.

  • Developing a thorough knowledge of products.

  • Completing periodic safety update reports on drugs and other treatments.

  • Writing and reviewing serious adverse effects reports and forms.

  • Flagging up early warning signs of adverse effects of drugs.

  • Minimising the risk of serious side effects on products.

  • Completing safety audits

  • Working on and documenting clinical trials of new drugs


Key Requirements



  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a busy pharmaceutical company

  • University degree in Pharmacy

  • PPB membership

  • Computer literate-working knowledge of MS-Office

  • Negotiation skills.

  • Analytical skills and Time management skills.

  • Problem solving and Presentation skills.

  • Interpersonal skills and Communication skills.

  • An understanding and appreciation of relevant legal, scientific and manufacturing areas is also necessary.
