Job Description

Position: Senior Accountant (Nairobi)
An established real estate Company in Nairobi is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant position.
Responsibilities
- Supervising staff accountants, providing on-going guidance and feedback and preparation of reviews.
- Bank reconciliations and various treasury functions, including bank liaison and cash flow management between various bank accounts and entities.
- Using System to analyse and summaries general ledger data on an accrual basis.
- Perform month end closing activities to maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income accounts to the general ledger.
- Prepare schedules and lead annual audits and KRA audits.
- Coordinate and ensure regular internal audits of company processes & controls and any corrective action plans.
- Other corporate accounting duties or supervision of duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, ACCA or similar.
- Minimum 7 years work experience with increasing responsibility within finance.
- At least 3 of these years should be as a senior accountant or similar, with experience in external audits, preparation and review of month-end close reports, account reconciliations, Itax system reconciliations and statutory reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- People Management skills.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines to achieve clear goals.
Duty station: Nairobi
Anticipated start date: Immediately.
