Job Title: Crop Production Specialist

Our client is a globally competitive Education Training Centre in Nyeri.

They seek to hire an efficient Crop Production Specialist who will be tasked with planting and managing crops to ensure maximum yield

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advice on what crops are most suited to the local context and the most resilient to climate change


• Oversee and ensure the successful implementation of agricultural production activities in the farm
  research farms and crops, collect data, and help farmers implement the best industry practices available.
  evaluate farmlands, cultivate relationships with others in the industry, and support land conservation efforts.
  work to prevent the introduction of harmful plant pests and animal disease to domestic plants and animals and stop agro-terrorism.


• Introduce new and improved crop varieties and production technologies that enhance drought resistance, improve household nutrition and food security, and increase yields


• Provide training to improve soil fertility and crop management, including but not limited to conservation farming, crop rotation and integrated nutrient management


• Promote integrated livestock management practices, including fodder production, holistic land usage and dip tanks.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must have a Diploma in Crop Production


• At least 1 year Experience in crop production and crop disease control


• Strong technical capacity in agro-production, with knowledge of best practices and guidelines


• Ability to work both independently and in a team


• Excellent communication Skills
