The organization

Glacier Products Ltd is a private company specializing in Ice creams, food related products and chocolates confectionery manufacture operating from Nairobi, Kenya and serving the entire East Africa Region.

To support the implementation of our business strategies we are looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join our dynamic team in the position of a Quality Assurance Assistant.

Job Summary

Assessing and verifying that the products meet the set standards. The Job holder will be based in a warehouse located at Road C and will report to the Quality Assurance Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring of OPRP 2 (Dispatch Procedure)


• Delivery vehicle cleaning inspection, verification and follow up


• Monitoring Crates cleaning


• Personnel hygiene monitoring and daily facility audits


• Facility temperature monitoring (Freezer rooms and chiller rooms (CCP 2A & 2B)


• General good housekeeping/ cleanliness inspection and follow up


• Ensure that market returns are checked as per the procedure.


• Ensuring that all staff are trained on specific process SOPS (OPRP 2)


• Full participation in food safety and QAS team activities


• Ensure products being loaded  complies  to all physical, chemical, microbiological parameters       


• Full participation in food safety and QAS team activities-Assistant communication  Co-coordinator

The Candidate Profile:

• Possess a minimum of a Diploma in food or dairy science.


• Minimum 3 years working experience in quality in the food industry with at least 1 year in the supervisory role.


• Have knowledge of FSMS; FSSC, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, BRC and other food management systems.


• Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills as well as a good verbal and writing skills         


• Ability to work with minimal supervision on daily tasks. Keen and articulate on details.
