Job Description
Job Vacancy: Debt Collections Agent
Job Purpose: The Collection Agent will provide an efficient and effective support in debt recovery of Mobile based delinquent loans to the assigned Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a diary system for effective follow up of debts.
- Submit all hard copies of work done on daily basis for soft copy inputting.
- Liaising with debtors through telephone call to start repayment plan of the outstanding debt or outright repayment of the whole debt or clearing of the arrears and thereafter regular payments as per original agreement
- Deliver consistent and professional level of services at all times.
- Updating debtor’s contacts in C-soft collection system, keeping track of all actions performed
- Negotiating a payment plan, but if the same is not possible and the debtor is not paying, the same to be escalated to the supervisor for directions.
- Keen follow up of debtors and tracking of all PTP’s for conversions.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Call customers through the automated dialer system to pay up the debts in arrears or submit repayment proposals; key them in hard copies & update regularly.
- Receiving promises to pay (PTP) over telephone and diarizing them and Follow up on broken PTP’s and ensure they are honored
- Escalate accounts that need further consideration to the supervisors and back office (accounts for outsourcing, accounts with no contacts, etc.)
- Meet the set targets for the day, week and Month.
- Receive inbound calls as presented by the dialer system and advise the customers accordingly
- Any other duties as assigned.
Academic & Professional
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or its equivalent
- Excellent experience in debt collection
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage
