Job Summary
Responsible for riding motor cycles, driving company vehicles to ensure that employees and materials reach their destinations within the given time.
- Minimum Qualification: Certificate
- Experience Level: Entry level
- Experience Length: 2 years
Job Description
- Ride motorcycles, drive vehicles, or use public conveyances in order to reach destinations to deliver messages or materials.
- Load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.
- Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
- Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, texts, or in person.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
- Deliver messages and items, such as cheques, invoices, documents, and packages to clients/office/suppliers.
- Sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route.
- Obtain signatures upon pick and drop by signing a delivery book from the receiver.
- Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages.
- Check with offices after completed deliveries, in order to confirm deliveries and collections and to receive instructions for other deliveries.
- Perform routine maintenance on motor cycles & vehicles such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
- Any other duty that may be assigned. Qualifications and requirements
- Must have a valid drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- Well organised with good communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
