Job Title: Education Lead – Edtech Company

Gross Salary: Kshs 150k – 300k

Our client is a Start-Up in the EdTech industry and has developed an Education App to enable learning and working that leverage technology.

They seek to hire an Education Lead who will be tasked with spearheading a multidisciplinary team of industry experts to identify the learner needs and creates appropriate, engaging, and impactful learning content.

Responsibilities

1. Research and provide a report about the pain points of the current teaching and learning ecosystem.


2. Review, give inputs and validate the MILES strategy based on the research findings in 1 above as well as personal expertise and experience.


3. Prepare a strategy and roadmap for the identification, design, curation, and delivery of rich academic content, in various formats, related to MILES and other organizations’ solutions.


4. Build a highly competent education team by identifying, recruiting, and managing high quality talent that will drive the education strategy forward.


5. Work with the engineering and production teams to create online and offline, digital and analog, academic solutions for both school and home use.


6. Work with the technology and production teams to ensure accurate implementation and presentation of academic content through books and platforms, with clear consideration for the best practices for delivering learning to improve learning outcomes


7. Work closely with partner schools in the design, testing, and deployment of new content and platforms.


8. Make sure regulatory standards are met.


9. Ensure comprehensive documentation of processes and findings with the education team.


10. Hold ultimate responsibility for the performance of the education team in results, budget, and integration into the overall company objectives.

Requirements

• B.A./BSc. BEd in Education, Instructional Design or a related field


• 15 Years years of experience in the education sector, with significant experience in managing the development of learning content.


• In-depth knowledge and strong networks in the local education landscape including stakeholders, schools, and education systems.


• Deep understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, instructional design, and education technology.


• Hands-on experience with large scale technology deployments in learning institutions


• Strong project management skills, demonstrated ability to manage teams and contractors, and ability to develop strong relationships with diverse project stakeholders; exceptional skills in building productive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and other partners.


• Quality mindset & obsessive attention to detail.


• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities


• Strong problem-solving skills


• Excellent English oral and written communication skills

Work Format: Office-based. 1-year consultancy, renewable.
