Our client is a leading Animal Farm with a huge market share and one of the best quality gourmet beef producers in Kenya.


To consolidate this market leadership position, they seek to hire a Feedlot and Logistics Officer.


Department: Livestock


Reports to: Group Farms Manager


Salary Range: Starting Kshs 100,000 upwards depending on experience


No of Positions: One (1)


Job Location: Naivasha


Placement: Immediate


Overall Job Purpose: The main purpose of the job is monitoring feedlot steers, supervision of tractor drivers, planning regulation and maintenance of farm machinery, champion livestock QMS implementation and ensure good quality of work done and targets achieved at minimal cost.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ensure day to day proper Feeding of steers is carried out;

  • Champion QMS implementation in the livestock department;

  • Ensure appropriate ratios of feed formulation for animals;

  • Monitor and ensure there is always a feeding programme for the animals;

  • Carry out daily allocation of Farm Tractors and Machinery;

  • Manage the administrative functions of the Livestock department;

  • Monitor and regulate the use of Tractors in the Farm including their allocation and maintenance ;

  • Daily allocation of tasks to staff in the feedlots;

  • Daily monitoring and supervision of staff in the section;

  • Daily monitoring and supervision of tasks in the section;

  • Monitor and record daily attendance of employees;

  • Ensure all employees are on appropriate Personal Protective Equipments’ (PPE’s);

  • Induct new employees to tasks and advise HR on their progress;

  • Report on any accident and injuries at the workplace to the management;

  • Administer first aid in case of accidents and record statements to the effect;

  • Conduct employee appraisals when due and report appropriately;

  • Implement OSH committee recommendations in their zone of work;

  • Implement the organizations Health and Safety Policy;

  • Ensure correct use of workplace equipment and tools;

  • Perform any other duties as may be required by management.


Qualifications and work experience



  • A Diploma holder in Animal Health and Production from a recognised institution;

  • Holders of Degree in Animal Health and Production will have an added advantage;

  • Possession of between 2-5years experience in livestock management in a reputable Farm;

  • Exposure to beef animals rearing and production will be desirable;

  • Those with Feedlot management experience will have definite advantage.
