Poultry and Allied Limited is a poultry breeder based in Musanda, Kakamega county providing Improved Kienyeji chicks and farmer support services covering the Nyanza and Western region.

We are looking for Field Operations Interns who will be assigned to Mumias, Kakamega and Bungoma towns. As accommodation is not offered, the successful applicants must reside or have their own accomodation within the region.

Qualification Level: Completed or currently studying any Agriculture based course with significant coursework in Agribusiness Management orExtension Services or Agricultural Engineering or Economics or any related course

Experience Level: Volunteer, internship in field operations, sales, office administration or extension services will be an added advantage but is not required.

Role Description: The successful candidate will be performing duties under the supervision of both the Sales & Marketing Manager as well as Administration & Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Support in sales and marketing including signing up and maintaining relationships with new partners, identifying and registering new customers, identifying and organizing events to educate potential customers, developing promotional plans to drive sales, conducting market research  etc.


2. Manage the distribution process by ensuring partners and customers receive goods in a timely manner and to a high standard.


3. Maintain field operation records daily including (customer inquiries, sales, event registrations, partner registrations/commissions etc.) and prepare & present management reports every week and month.


4. Suggest and upon approval, implement continuous improvement suggestions in field operations and innovative approaches in the overall business..


5. Develop and maintain a database of possible collaborators such as potential partners etc.


6. Assist in developing well researched farmer training manuals including blogs, articles and books; organize & participate in physical training and answering farmers queries.


7. Support in office administration including preparing financial reports such as supplier reports.


8. Support in other duties as may be required

Other requirements:

1. You must enjoy working with people, selling and negotiating and planning.


2. You should be punctual and have high attention to detail


3. You should be a self-starter / able to work well with minimal supervision


4. You should be highly organized and neat


5. You should demonstrate good communication skills in speech and writing


6. You should be able to work from 8am-5pm for a period of 3 - 6 months.
