Job Summary
Pursuant to the provision of County Government Act , No. 17 of 2012 section 45, 59 (1) (b) the West Pokot County Public Service Board wishes to consider applications from highly qualified results-oriented and self-motivated Kenyan citizens for appointments to the above position.

DEPARTMENT OF WATER, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES
12. FOREST GUARD II JG “G” 8 (POSTS)
An officer at this level will be deployed in a forest beat or in a forest protection base.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will involve protection and surveillance of the forest against encroachment, illegal invasion and activities, forest fires, tree diseases, pests and invasive species; preparation of forest beat or protection base reports; and supervising the harvesting of forest products, The officer will also be expected to handle firearms and ammunitions in accordance with the firearms and ammunition regulations; mann barriers and participate in national days
Requirements for Appointment
• Served in the grade of Forest guard III for a minimum period of three (3) years
• Attend a two months Basic Forestry Course for Forest Guards from the Forestry College or any other recognized Institution and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and re
Terms of Service:
• 3 years Contract renewable subject to performance.
• Salary as prescribed by SRC.
