POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are searching for a motivated and passionate intern for the position of Graphic Designer and Online Media Intern.

The position is ideal for those who are newly from college/campus and what to start off their life in graphics world, or someone has had some experience, but wants to gain further knowledge, training and experience to progress their career.

He/she will be responsible for the graphic design of magazines, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, web posts, social media campaigns, including copy writing, in addition to designing and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to specifications or samples, ensuring visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The BIDI BADU Group comprises of hospitality and tourism establishments, in addition to entertainment, leisure, property management and insurance divisions. The group is also proud to operate community and charity programs through the BIDI BADU Foundation.

DUTIES

·      Create any advertising and marketing tools that that may be needed i.e. magazines, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, web posts, logos.

·      Regular update of website design or pages and uploading of media.

·      Implement and maintain high-quality SEO (Search Engine Optimization) policies and incorporate them with content produced for the website.

·      Plan, execute and oversee the social media strategy for the company email, social media and display advertising campaigns.

·      Building, maintaining and managing social medial marketing campaigns.

·      Assessing performance of all social media marketing campaigns and assess against goals.     

·      Managing online brand and product/service campaigns to raise brand awareness.  

·      Developing strategies to drive online traffic.

·      Visiting potential partner or associated companies to provide with marketing material

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

·       Degree or Diploma in a related field

·       Thorough knowledge in all areas of graphic design and digital marketing

·       Thorough knowledge in using social media platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, for advertising and marketing

·       Strong knowledge and experience of website design, modification and updating

·       Strong proficiency in all MS Office software; particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

·       Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

·       Fluent in Swahili and English

DESIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• A strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.


• Expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API’s.


• A solid functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc.)


• Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.
