Job Vacancy: Group Management Accountant

Company Background: Our Client has grown to have outlets in 14 cities across 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). They currently employ approximately 2000 staff and they anticipate this number to increase by 25% annually over the next 3 to 5 years. Its employees are integral to the success of the business and are highly valued.

The Position: The Group Management Accountant will provide financial insights for the business to aid in decision making and performance management, drive the business planning process as well as the month end and year end closing processes.

Key responsibilities for the role will include

• Preparation of weekly (flash P&L), monthly and annual consolidated management accounts with key highlight comments


• Full balance sheet control and reporting responsibility to the FC and CFO


• Commercial and financial analysis of the business


• Preparation of annual forecasts & budgets


• Preparation of 12 months rolling forecasts


• Preparation of cash flow reports


• Assist in preparation of year-end audit financial statements


• Drive the measuring and managing of branch cost of sales


• Drive the review and management of branch actual cost of sales against theoretical cost of sales


• Accountable for the Inventory, Import & Export accounting function.


• Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of company revenue in the ledger.


• Ensuring accuracy of stock balances between sub ledger and main ledger


• Provide guidance mainly to operation team on interpretation of financial results


• Ensuring all company assets are insured and negotiating competitive premiums


• Preparation of ad hoc reports as per business needs and requirements


• Continuous review of key finance department processes and controls to improve on efficiency and accuracy of data captured


• Ensuring any new system or processes seamlessly integrates with existing systems


• Ensure financial data security

Qualifications

• CPA (K) or ACCA Final


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Management, Business Administration or similar field


• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Very Important)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a management accountant in a busy environment
