Location: Parklands Nairobi


Salary: 150 – 200K 


KEY ROLES


Our client is an internationally accredited medical laboratory operating in Nairobi, Kenya with satellite centers country-wide. They seek to hire a Head of sales whose overall responsibility is to drive sales growth by working closely with sales team, internal lab teams with close interaction with CEO.  The desired person should have strong leadership capabilities, with a wealth of networks in the medical field.


KEY RESULT AREAS (WHAT)



  • Revenue generation

  • Marketing/sales plans conceptualization and prudent financial resources utilization

  • Incentive payment to sales team

  • Marketing materials availability

  • Optimal clients’ coverage

  • Functional sales team constituted

  • Market intelligence and client feedback collection

  • Increase the lab’s visibility

  • Team coaching

  • Planning, Reporting, engaging difficult clients and creating rapport with clients

  • Administrative duties execution

  • Business proposals/concept notes generation

  • Sales review meetings and communicate with management

  • Team work with colleagues


ACTIVITIES (HOW)



  • Achieve region revenue objectives through on boarding new clients, optimizing and maintaining current clients

  • Develop and execute all detailed marketing/sales plans inclusive of budgets involved on annually/quarterly while monitoring financial expenditures

  • Monitor incentive bonus scheme to motivate the sales team based on key performance deliverables

  • Ensure quality and quantity availability of all marketing materials for example price lists, power point presentations, request forms and leaflets

  • Work with the team to meet the minimum daily call rate, effective region coverage and right client call frequency

  • Engage in sales team recruitment, training, deployment, sales objective setting, performance reviews and ensuring sales team has the resources required to effectively deliver

  • Conduct market intelligence on competitor activities and gather client feedback for utilization in sales strategy conceptualization/implementation

  • Ensure all digital platforms are active, proper signage and branding in all lab units

  • Regular posting about our services in all digital platforms, mounting signage and in house branding

  • Identify key areas of improvement for each sales team member, develop plan to work on identified areas, monitor progress and give feedback

  • Timely planning and reporting, calling on difficult clients and enumerate clients’ relationships forged

  • Timely completion and submission of approvals, reports, planners and any documentation required

  • Number of business proposals generated/concept notes and of the same executed

  • Number of sales review meetings executed with actionable minutes and open communication with management team

  • Engaging in non – sales related duties aiming at assisting colleagues


RESULT INDICATORS (WHY)



  • Achieve set revenue targets

  • Marketing/sales plans, budgeting and financial monitoring

  • Incentive scheme shared with sales team

  • Sales team and clients receive marketing materials as per their request

  • 8 clients visited by each sales team marketer per day focusing on class-A clients being visited monthly

  • Sales team recruitment, training sessions conducted, performance monitoring and timely availability of resources

  • Know key competitor’s locations, tests offered, tests cost, clients and Regularly co travel with sales team to offer coaching on the entire process in the field

  • Direct the sales team on planning, reporting, handling difficult clients, develop/sustain business relationships with clients

  • Ensure all administrative tasks for example planners, reports, requests, approvals are timely submitted

  • Continuously develop proposals/concepts notes on sales opportunities as per need

  • Conduct monthly business review meetings and communicate to management on sales team progress

  • Execute other duties assigned marketing/sales strategy while documenting clients’ feedback


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Required minimum education /training: Bachelor’s degree in any of Life Sciences or a degree in Marketing

  • Required Minimum Work Experience: at least 8 years in medical related sales and marketing

  • Demonstrate leadership skills, ability to nature and grow a team

  • Time management and people development

  • Good communication skills with a personal appeal and charisma
