Job Description
Our client is seeking a professional and customer-focused Hospital Physician to oversee their hospital operations.
The ideal candidate must be approachable and detailed-oriented with proven medical and hospital management work experience.
He / she should also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
He / She will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer / Directors, the Medical Specialist (Internal Medicine) will be expected to take full responsibility for patients under his / her care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing patients and instructing in writing all the recommendations;
- Conducting daily ward rounds duties including clerking, investigating and managing patients.
- Conducting daily outpatient clinic.
- Conducting research and clinical audits.
- Training and mentoring Medical Officers, and other clinical staff.
- Undertaking medico-legal duties.
- Refer patients to other medical specialists for further diagnosis of complex or unclear disorder or disease within the hospital.
- Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and utilized to benefit of the customer and service provider.
- Conducting disease surveillance, prevention and control.
- Carrying out health education and promotion.
- Preparing medical reports.
- Undertaking medico-legal duties.
- Participation in Continuous medical educations.
- Any other duties as directed by the CEO or Directors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine from a KMPDC recognized University.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch. B) degree from a recognized institution by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Proven experience of not less than one (1) year at the level of Medical Specialist.
- Specialist recognition certificate from the Medical Practitioners’ and Dentist Council.
- Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Retention in the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council register.
- Professional Indemnity Cover.
- Evidence in knowledge and proficiency in computer applications.
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
