Job Description/Requirements


Our client is a real estate developer who takes pride in being the pioneer of the open-plan gated community concept in East Africa, which is now recognized as the future for sustainable living in East Africa.
 
Key Responsibility:
Overall oversight, responsibility, and coordination of all Human Resources & Business Administration functions.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Talent Management:

1. Develop and implement long-term strategies for spotting and attracting exceptional talent.
2. Evaluate the needs of the business as regards human capital needs and coordinate the recruitment, shortlisting and interviewing process.
3. Develop training and development programmes as well as motivation and retention strategies in order to offer a conducive work environment for staff.
4. Scheduling various staff programmes/trainings and team building exercises.
5. Putting in place an effective performance management system and overseeing the exercise to ensure that staff performance is well managed.
6. Acting as a strategic advisor on human resource and talent matters in order to assist the business meet its needs.

Human Resource Administration
1. Issuing staff contracts.
2. Ensure all staff files are up to date.
3. Monitor the Leave System.
4. Develop and act as custodian of various HR manual, processes, policies and their adjacent forms.
5. Co-ordinate staff insurance records and act as a liaison with the insurance company / broker.
6. Deal conclusively with all staff issues.
7. Oversee staff, subsistence, travel and associated cost management.
8. Communicate to staff on general staff matters.
9. Preparation of all Management and Board reports.

Benefits and Payroll Management
1. Design innovative and competitive remuneration structures.
2. Co-ordinate the payroll and ensure it is timely and accurate.
3. Review the current benefits structures and propose the right structures to the Human Resources Committee of the Board.

Business and Administration
1. Overseeing how the reception area is handled.
2. Handling communication and routing to the right department and following up to ensure the client has been served to satisfaction.
3. Ensuring the company vehicles are well maintained and serviced on time.
4. Ensure insurance for office assets is on time and maintain proper records for the same;
5. Implementing/enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
6. Ensuring that staff members are well taken care of in terms of stationery, sitting space etc.
7. Assist in maintaining safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
8. Ensuring the offices maintain high standards of cleanliness.
9. Monitoring movement of office assets as well as maintaining proper stock levels of company promotion items.
10. Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
11. Provide various services to the team such as transport and refreshments
12. Events management.

Qualifications:
1. At least 4 years of full-time experience. Candidates with 2 years in a management / supervisory role will have an added advantage.
2. Minimum Second Upper Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with a master’s degree as an added advantage.
3. A minimum of a B+ grade in high school.
4. Commercial and business astuteness.
5. Ability to lead and develop strategic HR and Business administration practices.
6. Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
7. High levels of energy and enthusiasm and ability to work long hours and under pressure to deliver timely solutions/deliverables.
