Job Title: Sales Associate – International trade

Job Location: Nairobi

Gross Salary: 150K

Our client is an established trading company.

They seek to hire chemical sales associates to increase their market share in sales of fertilizers, polymer, and mining chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans to support the growth of existing customers and identify new customers for existing/new products.


• Conduct background research on competitors for fertilizer, polymer, and mining trading commodities.


• Bring new business by targeting new market segments in the field of chemicals.


• Source potential leads and utilize efficiently the lead lists provided to you by the team.


• Identifying new development channels.


• Conduct market research for potential target clients based on the company’s trading commodities.


• Schedule meetings and conference calls with prospective clients and follow up to execute the meetings.


• Contributing to the development and maintenance of clients’ and partner’s databases.


• Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices.


• Learn about the industry and provide a competitive solution for potential customers.


• Conduct background research on competitors for fertilizer, polymer, and mining trading commodities.


• Attend networking events and conferences with peers and various industry leaders.


• Work within a team and support other team members to deliver excellent sales.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Sales and Marketing or related field.


• At least 5-years’ experience in international trade and logistics


• Excellent understanding of the Chemicals industry in an international setting.


• Ability to build reports and forecast sales as well as trends.


• Extensive business-to-business sales experience.


• Strong interest in international economic development.


• High computer literacy (MS Office).


• Strong research and strategic analysis skills


• Willing to travel both in-country and international.
