Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
The IT Support Assistant will work closely with Software engineers and business managers to maintain smooth system operations.
Responsibilities shall include:
- Maintenance and monitoring of cloud computer networks and systems.
- Monitoring API integrations to 3rd parties to ensure they are always functioning properly.
- Ensuring service-affecting incidents are immediately resolved or escalated to the Software Engineers and operations managers.
- Develop reports, micro-services or product modifications requested by business managers.
- Ensuring production systems are functioning correctly via the completion of the IT Operations daily checklist.
- Performing the technical review and first level of sign off for all change requests raised by operations managers.
- Measuring the impact of system, policy or procedural change and providing prompt and accurate feedback.
- Checking for scheduling clashes for all high-risk changes
- Coordinating planned maintenance work.
- Disabling, enabling, retracting and re advertising services to facilitate planned maintenance.
- Communicating with stakeholders at key times to ensure that work is proceeding according to the agreed schedule.
- Communicating effectively with IT team and managers when handling escalated issues.
Required Skills, Experience and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer science
- Experience in programming languages: Node, Angular, Java
- Experience in managing computer systems in Linux environments
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to make and act on decisions when under pressure.
- Self-managed and can work unsupervised.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
- Concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Quick learner.
