Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist – Intern ( 3-6 Months Engagement)

The Occupational Therapist Intern will work under the guidance and leadership of the Occupational Therapist in conducting physical assessments, developing treatment plans, and developing physical rehabilitation programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-depth evaluations of patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

2. Initiate appropriate occupational therapy intervention and treatment for patients.

3. Assess and evaluate physical disabilities caused by neurological disorders, deconditioning, developmental delays, and any other disease states.

4. Coordinating and advising occupational therapy equipment needed to enhance care

5. Promote wellness through community health interventions and screening

6. Collaborate and work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care

7. Maintain and update patient records.

Requirements:

1. Minimum Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized / certified institution.

2. Must be registered with KOTA (Kenya Occupational Therapist Association).

3. Previous experience in an Occupational Therapist role, working with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental needs.

4. Ability to design and develop individual intervention programs.

5. Ability to form good working relationships with a wide variety of people.

6. Patience, determination to secure the very best for the students, and a positive attitude.

7. Commitment to Christian principles, professionalism, work integrity, and spiritual maturity as demonstrated by active church involvement.
