Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Diploma in medical engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognised institution;
- Be a Member of Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK);
- Demonstrated considerable technical competences and administrative skills;
Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Undertaking preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, instruments and furniture’s;
- Requisitioning for spare parts and consumables;
- Taking inventory of medical /hospital equipment’s and furniture;
- Collecting information for research;
- Collecting information on medical engineering services for input into the integrated health information management system;
- Carrying out minor repairs of health facilities and utilities;
- Implementing medical engineering programmes and projects;
- Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Conducting home visits, following up discharged patients/clients and providing continuity of care;
- Treating minor ailments;
