Job Description
Our client, a cement and wall products manufacturing company, is urgently looking for logistics professionals.
Designation / Title: Logistics Officer
Reporting to (The position to whom the person reports to): Head Sales & Marketing Sub Saharan Africa.
Job Description (Functions the person will be handling on day to day basis)
- Handling day to day Shipping & Logistics Operations.
- Monitoring all transport related operations.
- Handling transport Related Issues with Customs and Port Authorities.
- In charge of all Import/Export consignments.
- Handling freight forwarding operations with the clearing agent.
- Preparing Daily Status Reports for Incoming & Outgoing shipments.
- Arranging Container & Truck Freight for the outward dispatch.
- Close Coordination, among internal, shipping Cos. & transporters
- Documentation for Export/Import Shipments.
Qualification and Job Specification (Mention the Skill sets/qualities like education qualification, technical qualification, year of experience, language required, driving license & vehicle required or any other specification)
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Shipping/Logistics Management.
- Good communication skills.
- Capability of preparing Export/Import Documents, L.C. etc.
- Knowledge of Excel, SAP and other software skills.
- High negotiation skill to obtain best Container & Truck Freights.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Shipping/Logistics.
