Job Description
- Pipe Masters & Plastics Limited is looking for Machine Operators (2) who will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of PVC or HDPE pipes and also leads and manages a shift team, to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of equipment to meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Proficiently operate and oversee machinery involved in PVC pipe, HDPE pipe, and injection molding production to ensure optimal output quality and efficiency.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to maintain equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
- Conduct production activities in accordance with the company policy and standard operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead and manage a shift team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and efficient production schedules.
- Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Suggest ideas for optimizing machine performance, reducing waste, and improving product quality.
- Operate machinery such as extruders, injection molding machines, cutting equipment, and other specialized tools used in the manufacturing process.
- Set up machines, adjust settings, and calibrate equipment parameters according to specifications for different pipe sizes and characteristics.
- Monitor the production process to ensure the quality of pipes meets industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, perform quality checks, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures. Ensure personal and environmental safety by following guidelines and using protective equipment.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine logs.
- Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff to optimize production
- processes and address any concerns that may arise.
- Any other duty that you may be assigned by relevant authorities
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in machine operation and maintenance within the PVC pipe, HDPE pipe, or injection molding industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations.
Competencies:
- Demonstrated expertise in operating machinery specific to PVC pipe, HDPE pipe, and injection molding production within an industrial setting
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and address technical issues efficiently to ensure uninterrupted production
- Strong leadership skills to supervise a team effectively, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations during shifts.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting technical problems and implementing solutions promptly.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift/move heavy materials or equipment.
- Adherence to safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
