Our client is one of the top processing companies in Kenya.

They seek to hire an Internal Auditor who will be tasked with reviewing and evaluating the organization’s operations; assessing the effectiveness and adequacy of all internal controls of management.

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: Nairobi

Reporting To: Head of Internal Audit

Overall job purpose: Execution of risk based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan as well as carrying out special / investigative audits

Roles and Responsibilities

• Appraises the soundness, adequacy and application of the internal control systems in assigned areas


• Report risk management and internal control deficiencies identified to the Head of the Internal Audit


• Identify internal audit control environment enhancement opportunities.


• Keep abreast with compliance procedures and other applicable laws and regulations


• Undertake and complete internal audit plans within give timelines as directed by the Head of Internal Audit


• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, fraud , or non-compliance with laws , regulations and management policies in the organization


• Prepare and maintain working papers in support of audits conducted


• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills


• Strong organizational and project management skills


• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommend changes in the organizations operations


• Managing a variety of stakeholders and the expectations through regular communications


• Train and supervise the Audit assistants


• Any other duties assigned by the Head of internal Audit

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance


• CPA or CIA certification


• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in manufacturing/FMCG


• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports


• Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations


• High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills


• Sound independent judgment


• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills


• Ability to advise critically and appraise policies and procedures and make suggestions for improvements
