Registered Oncology Nurse Job, Nursing Job Vacancies in Kenya January 2022,

REGISTERED  ONCOLOGY  NURSE   – TWO(2) POSITIONS – VACANCY NO.01/2022/05

Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 38,270 – Ksh.51,170 p.m.                

(Job Group ‘K’)

Allowances as per the SRC circulars attached to the position. Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.

For appointment to this position, a candidate must:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen;


• Have a Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Nursing or Kenya Registered Nursing;


• Have a Higher Diploma in Oncology Nursing;


• Have a Registration Certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya;


• Have a Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya;


• Be proficient in computer

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

• Working with the Radiation Oncologist


• Assisting the Oncologist in provision of health services and be the link between the patients and the Oncologists;


• Ensuring that the oncology department is cleaned and prepared to handle oncology patients;


• Keeping inventory of all medical equipment and supplies in the oncology unit;


• Assessing, planning, implementing oncology nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes;


• Scheduling appointments for oncology patients for care, referring patients and clients appropriately;


• Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;


• Maintaining records on patients’/client’s health condition and care; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and collecting and compiling data; and


• Any other duties allocated by the unit in charge.
