Job Re-Advertisement: Production Manager

We are a leading limestone manufacturing Company located in Kumpa, Kajiado.

To support our growth, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Production Manager.

The successful candidate will be a people leader with good technical and operations management skills.

Role Description

Reporting to the General Manager, essential duties and responsibilities of the position holder will include but not limited to:

• Supervise the quarry unit, milling, packaging, electrical, mechanical units to ensure the smooth running of activities and accountability;


• Set daily, weekly, monthly and annual targets for the units described above, monitor the achievement of the said targets taking appropriate actions for areas requiring intervention;


• Monitor the raw material stock and timely communicate to the Procurement Officer of materials requiring restocking and when they are required;


• Monitor and supervise the production process and all factors affecting production to ensure production targets are met and provide daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc production reports;


• Ensure prompt resolution of breakdowns and preventive of quarry and plant machinery is done as scheduled to minimize downtimes;


• Mentor, coach, guide, supervise, regularly appraise performance, and take disciplinary measures on production staff to ensure that the company has a committed and compact production team;


• Hold meetings, communicate about and discuss production plans, activities and schedules to ensure there is involvement and participation within the team and beyond with company staff;


• Manage lead times in consideration of capacity and optimal use of resources, assessing production workloads, prioritizing and allocating resources as required;


• Ensure understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations in the department.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Manufacturing / Automotive / Industrial/ Chemical Engineering or a related degree with at-least three years’ of production operations experience in the manufacturing industry

The role is in Kumpa, Kajiado hence, successful candidates should be willing to relocate if not already living there.
