OPERATIONS MANAGER JOB ADVERTISEMENT.

A well established farm in Laikipia is looking for an Operations Manager with vast experience in mechanical engineering and people management skills. Being a senior role, the ideal candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer with frequent travel to Nairobi Head Office.

Key responsibilities.

1. Supervising and overseeing farm machinery and equipment by ensuring regular scheduled service, maintenance, and replacement where necessary.


2. Supervising and planning overall operations of the farm.


3. Establishing efficient operational systems for purchase, storage, and usage of spare parts and fuel.


4. Establishing a functional health and safety system to avert risks.


5. Supervising all drivers and plant operators through a functional logistics schedule.

6. Managing infrastructures within the farm including buildings, fences, and roads among others.


7. The integral link between the farm and communities through elders and local administration to establish a strong Corporate Social Responsibility Program (CSRP).

Experience and qualifications.

1. BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience of over 7 years in a busy agricultural establishment.


2. Good knowledge of building practices, mechanical and auto engineering.


3. Computer literate.


4. Fluent in spoken and written English and Swahili.
