Oshwal Academy Mombasa is a private school owned and managed by Oshwal Education & Relief Board offering the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge Assessment International education (IGCSE, A/S and A’ Levels) and Pearson EDEXCEL International.

The Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Art & Design Teacher to teach in the Senior School.

The teacher should be highly competent in Art and Design.

Skills and Competence:

Qualifications:

• A graduate with Bachelor of Education degree with specialisation in Art and Design from a recognised institution.


• Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.

Experience:

• At least five years’ demonstrable teaching experience in IMYC, IGCSE. A/S and A’ Level. Alternative curricula experience will be preferred such as Cambridge Assessment International Education.


• Demonstrable technical and academic knowledge of ICT.


• Knowledge of technical content delivery in a variety of examinable syllabi IMYC Edexcel, Cambridge, (IGCSE, A/S and A’ Level).


• Experience in teaching Art and Design to key stages 3 to 5.


• Good intra and interpersonal skills.


• Good ethical standards.


• Knowledgeable in modern pedagogy and demonstrable teaching practices.


• Excellent written and oral communication.


• Innovative and creative individual.


• Good planning and organisation skills.


• Good in meeting deadlines.


• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.


• Ability and proven willingness to support clubs and other co-curricular activities.
