Job Description/Requirements
Department Administration
Position Reports to Procurement Officer
Duties and Responsibility
The job holder’s duties and responsibilities are outlined as follows:
a) Participate in the purchasing process from sourcing to delivery. This process includes preparation of purchase requisitions, maintaining requisitions record, sourcing for quotations, cost analysis, and order expediting as advised by the Procurement Officer;
b) Conduct market research to identify pricing trends;
c) Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices;
d) Track orders and ensure timely delivery;
e) Ensure that all purchases meet the required standards and specification;
f) Maintain updated records of contracts;
g) Research potential vendors;
h) Participate in the vendors’ evaluation process
i) Liaise with Stores staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition;
j) Responsible for filing all the procurement documents and,
k) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Job Specifications
The job holder must possess:
• Diploma in purchasing and supplies/procurement;
• 2 years’ work experience in a similar role;
• Good understanding of the supply chain procedures
• Hands-on experience with Sage Evolution software will be an added advantage
• Solid organizational skills
• Have demonstrated outstanding professional competence in procurement work;
• Should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills;
• Proficiency in MS Office.
