Vacant Position: Quality Assurance / Control Supervisor

Job Summary: Our client is a leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of Signage and Branding works, lighting, customized fabrication and developing sign technology for the African market. They are seeking to hire a Quality Assurance / Control Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspecting incoming materials, in-process molded plastic components, and finished fabricated plastic products, welded items, art work and paint work to ensure adherence to company quality standards and customer specifications:


• Draws sketch and writes inspection procedure for each new item to be fabricated, indicating areas to be examined, measuring devices to be used, and maximum and minimum acceptable dimensions.


• Distributes sketch and procedure to production, and inspection work stations.


• Inspects molded components as well all other components following first-run production of new item, using gauges and other measuring equipment, and advises technicians of the type of defects noted and need for machine adjustment.


• Repeats inspection procedure until product meets quality standards and specifications are attained.


• Overseeing product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards.


• Confers with customer representative to resolve complaints.


• Notifies suppliers and subcontractors of reasons for rejection of materials and parts received.


• Reporting on the Status of Quality Assurance in the Company in Management Review Meetings.


• Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis.


• Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them.


• Getting feedback from clients, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors.

Education / Experience

• Minimum five years in manufacturing and field experience in the QA/QC role is a MUST.


• Diploma level and above in a mechanical / Electrical Field.


• Current knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System will be an added advantage.


• Ability to read and understand technical documents/drawings and symbols and to apply this knowledge to improve the Company’s overall Quality Standards.


• Knowledge of NDE Practices, Welding Processes, and Materials.


• Ability to assume responsibility and collaborate effectively with others.


• Ability to analyze and make decisions effectively and efficiently on behalf of the QA/QC department.


• Proficient with Microsoft Suite programs, Word, Excel etc.
