RTI is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to conducting innovative, multidisciplinary research that improves the human condition. RTI International is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Regional Information Technology Specialist.

Roles

• This role is part of the Africa Regional Office team that works collaboratively to support over 30 projects in the region.


• In collaboration with project leadership and with supervision from the Regional IT Manager, this position is responsible for high level IT support to projects to ensure that Windows and other software is maintained, Windows 2008, Windows 2012 and Windows 2016 servers in the region are configured, network infrastructure, including internet connections, Firewalls etc. are effectively set up as well as assist with the technical specification, budget and forecast for IT requirements for project offices.


• This position will also matrix manage the project IT Managers performance and development.


• The Senior Regional IT Specialist will also ensure compliance with RTI information Security policies, procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Applicants will possess a minimum of Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science and 6 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or any other related certification with 10 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure support.


• User Training experience and customer service skills are highly desired.


• The applicant will demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot common; hardware, software and network issues and pay attention to detail.


• Familiarity with international development systems and policies is desired.


• Applicant are required to have a high degree of professionalism and discretion and be culturally astute.


• This position requires some travel within the region.


• Applicants must be flexible and work well under pressure in a multi-tasking environment.


• This position does not attract international allowances.
