Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Risk & Compliance or related field.
A general knowledge and understanding of insurance, as well as legislation, rules and regulations impacting the insurance industry.
Experience:
3-5 years experience in audit, risk & compliance business management preferably in financial service industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Risk & Compliance Officer main role is to do monitoring and reporting results of the compliance and ethics efforts of the company and in providing guidance for the board and senior management team on matters risk & compliance.
The role holder is authorized to implement all the necessary actions to ensure achievement of the company objectives.
Other duties includes:-
- Reviewing external publication and communication.
- Facilitate compliance with government laws and regulations.
- Advise management of new legislation and regulations which might bring impact on the company.
- To examine policy documents&promotional materials to mitigate regulatory compliance breach.
- Regularly evaluate the company's compliance status with applicable laws and regulations, guidelines and directives that may be issued by government and other regulatory authorities from time to time.
- Ensure implementation of good corporate governance culture hence act as a point of contact for compliance matters with local regulators.
- Act as a point of contact for handling major legal complaints.
- Evaluate compliance with internal policies&procedures.
- To act as money laundering prevention officer.
- To act as anti-bribery&corruption officer.
- Prepare an annual company compliance plan.
- To create and implement local risk policies, standards&procedures.
Salary: Kshs. 350,000 - 500,000 plus generous company benefits
