Role Purpose: The Regional Programming Unit’s over-arching goal for the period 2019 – 2021 is to ensure regional accountability for child rights, with the aim that children in the East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR) are safe and protected.


The Child Protection and Migration Coordinator uses his/her technical knowledge in child protection (with a specific focus on protecting children from all forms of violence). As well as migration and displacement to manage the delivery by partners of activities aimed at ensuring that Children in East and Southern Africa are protected by strengthened, inclusive community, national and trans-national child protection systems.


Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelors in social sciences and speciality in one of the following social work, psychology, child development, education sciences, migration

  • Certification in PCM, implementation and evaluation


Essential


1. 5 years’ experience in migration and displacement


2. 5 years’ experience in child protection in an NGO dealing with case management and policy influence


3. 5 years in positive parenting


4. Experience working with EAC or other Regional Economic Communities.


5. Partnership management experience


6. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.


Desirable
