Responsible for:

Developing and providing operational and coordination support to the organization to ensure effective formulation and implementation of the security functions.

Key Tasks

1.      Security Operations

·      Organizing and providing security operations inline with the organization’s policies and procedures.

·      General supervision of all security personnel of the organization.

 2.      Security Support

·       Be on call on a 24 hours x 7 days basis for any emergencies occurring within the organization.

·       Managing and supervising the daily operations of rangers at all sites by conducting routine patrols.

·       Ensuring that adequate personnel of rangers is deployed effectively at all sites at appropriate times and that they are efficiently allocated key areas of work with notes of high-priority items to be covered.

·       Ensuring that all performance and attendance issues of rangers are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

3.      Networking and External Liaison/Engagement

·      Liaising with the government officials, security agents, and community concerning security matters for when required.

·      Providing coordination and attending meetings with other security partners as may be delegated from time to time by Management.

 4.      Capacity Building and Technical Training

·         Managing calendar of training events for rangers.

·         Identifying rangers training needs and advising the Senior Management.

·         Coordinating and conducting security orientation and/or briefings for rangers as required.

·         Coordinating and conducting regular in-house training for the Rangers.

5.      Reporting and Documentation

·         Preparing and keeping a log and report all security incidences and coordinating the follow-up.

·         Sending regular security reports to Management as per the organization’s policy and procedures.

·         Maintaining the Security Manual up to date for use by all rangers to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

1.       Bachelors’ Degree or relevant academic qualifications in Security related field.

2.       Age between 40 – 45 years.

3.       Minimum of 7 years experience with keen exposure in the Army (KDF)/GSU/KWS at a senior level.

4.       Good IT skills with a working knowledge of MS Office packages and knowledge of electronic security systems.

5.       Good knowledge of Kenya Security Laws.
