Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions at the Club.
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor
- Experience Level: Mid level
- Experience Length: 4 years
Job Description
The role requires a practical understanding of Accounting in detail, excellent time management skills, proactivity and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
Maintenance of books of account and provision of assistance in the preparation of Financial Statements are core aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate should have experience collaborating and/or managing a team of junior accountants.
Duties include:
- Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
- Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status
- Reconciling account balances and bank statements
Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Liaise with our finance committee to improve financial procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like fresh books and quickbooks among others
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) .
