DESCRIPTION
We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for of Senior Officer-Supply Chain Supplier Qualification in the Finance Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Brief Posting Description

• Reporting to the Senior Manager-Supply Chain Enablers, will be responsible to manage the company’s supplier qualification process by ensuring that only suppliers who meet Safaricom’s set requirements are entered into the supplier database.

Job Responsibilities

• Active segmentation of existing suppliers from qualification perspective.


• Maintenance of supplier pre-qualification master data


• Initiate supplier qualification process by sending out pre-qualification form to identified suppliers


• Receive and review pre-qualification documents


• Assess supplier documents for compliance with the set standards


• Communicate outcome of pre-qualification to the prospective suppliers


• Storage/periodic retrieval of all assessed supplier documents in the archives


• Periodic qualification of existing suppliers


• Initiate periodic re-qualification to existing suppliers


• Communicate outcomes of qualification to the existing suppliers


• Identify and manage risks associated with supplier pre-qualification


• Maintain and update operational risk register for all black listed suppliers


• Produce accurate and timely reports in accordance with the Supply Chain metrics framework.


• Prepare and Share weekly/Monthly reports to key stakeholders on pre-qualification/compliance/supplier risks


• Prepare Complete, Accurate and Timely Issue log report.


• Prepare adhoc reports as per agreed SLA which can assist highlight any unusual behavior


• Verify and initiate creation of new vendors upon request by purchasing or internal customer.


• Review, identify duplicate suppliers and update the supplier master data for all purchasing Suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS

• A graduate with a degree in any relevant field from a recognized university


• Professional certification in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).


• Have at least 2-3 years’ relevant work experience in a supply chain field


• Good knowledge of MS office


• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills


• Experience managing external stakeholders
