Job Description
Job Vacancy: Statutory Accountant
Company Background: Our Client has grown to have outlets in 14 cities across 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda).

The Position: Responsible and Accountable for the reconciliation of all the statutory accounts and settling with the authorities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurate monthly reconciliation of input and output vat to the source transactions
- Accurate monthly reconciliation of withholding vat to the source transactions
- Calculation and verification of withholding vat tax
- Corporation Tax
- Calculation and verification of rent income tax
- Monthly reconciliation of catering levy
- Accurate and timely uploading of Vat, Withholding, Rent income tax and catering levy to the receiver
- Ensuring that all statutory payments are done timeously
- Processing of monthly staff mileage
- Reconciliation and payment of staff claims
- Timely processing of casual labor payments
- Ensure financial data security
Key Accountabilities
- General payroll processing, employee and statutory payment
- Accurate reconciliation of all the statutory requirements
- Timely payments of all Statutory payment
- Safeguarding data security
- Review system process flow for improved reporting
- Meeting all statutory payment deadlines
- Improved efficiency in statutory processing and payment
- Successful implementation of the ERP
Job Specifications

Qualifications
- Financial Degree, CPA (K) or CIMA qualification
Experience
- 5 years
Core Competencies:
- Understanding of the statutory requirements, reconciling and paying timeously
