Antenatal Corticos Teroids For Improving Outcomes In Preterm Newborns (ACTION) Trial Project
Job Opportunities
The ACTION Trial project is a WHO Multi Country Trial to be conducted for a period of two (2) years in four hospitals in Kenya which include Thika level 5 hospital, Kiambu level 5 hospital, Nakuru level 5 hospital and Coast Provincial General hospital.
Study Nurse – Thika
1 Position
Qualifications
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent with a pass in English
- The applicant must have a diploma in Kenya Registered Nurse Midwife or Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse or a degree in Bachelor of Science, Nursing
Experience
- At least 1 year working experience post qualification in a busy maternity unit
- Applicants with training and experience in research and IT will have added advantage
Among other duties the applicant will be required to:-
- Work closely with the ACTION Investigators, Study Coordinator and the Data Manager
- Based in the following County hospital: Thika
- Work closely with the staff of labour ward to:
- Recruit and randomize study participants
- Collect data
- Maintain registers of randomized clients
