Qualifications

• Be a holder of KCSE or its equivalent


• Have a diploma in KRN/RM or KRCHN


• Have a certificate in basic IT skills


• Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya

Experience

• At least 2 years working experience in a busy labour ward


• Experience in clinical research will be an added advantage

Duty and Responsibilities

• Participation in training on the DripAssist prior to the intervention period of the study.


• Screen and enroll eligible women admitted in labour ward


• Ensure proper administration of consent.


• Monitor and collect information using Red cap fill in the data tool until the patient exits the study.


• Perform other duties as directed by the Principal investigator.

Job Description

• Report to the study coordinator.


• Participation in training on the DripAssist prior to the intervention period of the study.


• Screen and enroll eligible women admitted in labour ward


• Ensure proper administration of consent.


• The study nurse will inform the patient if they are a part of the current practice study, which will include monitoring the patient’s condition and drug infusion.


• Use DripAssist device to monitor a drug infusion which would be magnesium sulphate or Oxytocin.


• Monitor and collect information using Red cap fill in the data tool until the patient exits the study.


• Ensure all project equipment are kept in safe custody and are handed over to the next shift.


• Patient over report documented in the handing over book and a daily summary done each day.


• Report any adverse effect to the principal investigator immediately and document in the report book and ensure the necessary forms are filled.


• Perform other duties as directed by the Principal investigator.
