Responsibilities

The Employee’s duties and procedures which may be varied from time to time, will include amongst other responsibilities that arise during the day to day business of the Company the following:

1. Provide support to the employee Stakeholder representative to implement committee initiatives across departments; organize and run committee meetings.


2. Involved in sustainability projects at the farm and in the community.


3. Support data tracking efforts and make recommendations for consistent monitoring and evaluation.


4. Complete required reporting and other activities related to sustainability interventions.


5. Maintain the Farm’s Sustainability database support community relations initiatives through research.


6. Assist with event planning that meets standards in Sustainability Events Checklist.


7. Represent the Community Relations Officer at sustainability events and meetings when/where necessary.


8. Establish and maintain relationships with local stakeholders (e.g., schools, health facilities, BMU, Land Holdco, women groups, youth associations etc.).


9. Encourage sustainable practices in each department and for individuals at farm and in community.


10. Research and support in the application for grant funding for sustainability efforts.


11. Participate in exploration of Community intervention possibilities.


12. Identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives in the community.


13. Serve as a liaison for the Sustainability Department in community sustainability efforts.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Social sciences, education, environmental sustainability, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field plus two years related experience and/or training required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage.


• Demonstrated knowledge of environmental sustainability principles and practices required.


• Ability to apply analytical and mathematical skills to make data-driven decisions required.


• Must demonstrate critical problem-solving skills.


• Must possess the ability to work independently upon receiving direction.


• Project management and implementation skills required.


• A passion for sustainability is a must.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills required.


• Demonstrated public speaking skills required, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of stakeholders, clients, customers, and the general public. 


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.


• Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs, software and technology required applications.


• Research skills required.


• Required to follow all Victory Farm’s safety and security policies and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by the job duties.
