Position Title: Teachers Training Consultancy on Digital Solution and ICT Integration in Teaching and Learning


Location: Dadaab, Garissa County, Kenya


Background: Windle International – Kenya (WIK) is a humanitarian organization providing education to refugees and communities in conflict affected areas.


WIK was founded in 1977 with the belief that good education was essential if Africa was to meet the challenges it faced.


In Kenya, WIK is working with communities in Dadaab, Fafi, Wajir South, Turkana West, Turkana North sub-counties as well as Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement, Dadaab and Kakuma Refugee Camps on education projects.


About the training: WIK is working closely with the UNHCR to implement the secondary education program in Dadaab supporting Six secondary schools with an overarching objective of providing quality secondary education to 11,228 refugees through provision of trained teachers, improved learning environments and integration of technology in teaching and learning.


This call is for a consultant to support Teacher training on digital solution and ICT integration in teaching and learning in Dadaab.


This will be done through build capacity of WIK teachers and education managers to effectively lead in the utilization of ICT tools in education and master the developments in curriculum delivery ushered in by technology.


The training will ensure that these staff can equip learners with modern ICT skills which is foundational in achieving one of the Kenya vision 2030 project goals – to acquire the status of a knowledge economy by 2030.


The required consultant will facilitate training sessions in Digital solutions and Integration of Information Communications Technology in learning for the WIK staff based in the Dadaab secondary schools.


In addition, the consultant will conduct an assessment to identify existing e-learning gaps, provide content to bridge these gaps as well as conduct a range of learning activities to assist teachers and education managers to apply knowledge acquired in the training in the classroom for the benefit of their learners.


The Role:


The identified consultant will be expected to;



  • Conduct an assessment to identify existing E-learning gaps

  • Develop training content to bridge these gaps as well as increase knowledge and skills of the targeted teachers and education managers on how to:

  • Develop/Create and present an ICT integrated lesson

  • Apply relevant innovative approaches in teaching and learning.

  • Apply the 21st century skills in teaching and learning

  • Assessment of an ICT integrated lesson.

  • Deliver the teachers’ training based on the developed content

  • Develop and post-training monitoring/follow up plan to track and support the teachers and education managers implement the training content


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Bachelor Degree in Education/ Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or any other related field with experience in conducting ICT in education trainings

  • Excellent capacity building skills, with demonstrated experience in content development, training, coaching and facilitation

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Certification as a Microsoft Certified Educator will be an added advantage

  • Experience working in refugee/emergency contexts, and understanding of the specific contexts where Secondary

  • Education is delivered within Dadaab

  • Willingness to travel to and within Dadaab refugee camps and surrounding host communities in strict compliance and adherence to laid down Covid-19 and security protocols
