Teaching Vacancies – Lavington Area, Nairobi

Brookhurst International School is a co-education institution offering the IGCSE system of education. It has preparatory and secondary school levels.

We are located in a serene environment in Kajiado county, Kiserian which is about 20 kilometers from Nairobi. We offer boarding and day schooling options to our students.

Brookhurst International school will open a new school in Nairobi County in Lavington area in January 2022. The objective is to increase access to quality education and other services to more students and pupils in Nairobi County.

The school has a preparatory and secondary sections and has sports activities such as swimming, basketball, soccer and other sports.

Teaching Vacancies

a) Key stage 1 teachers – grade 1-3

• Teachers must possess primary /ECDE certificate and a degree in education


• Experience in teaching this level for not less than 5 years in BNC/IGCSE system of education

b) Other teachers

We are recruiting teachers with the following subjects’ combinations

• Mathematics /Business /economics


• Bio/chem and physics


• English/literature


• German/French /Spanish and Chinese


• RE/History/Geography/Kiswahili /sociology/travel and tourism


• ICT


• Physical education and any other subject


• Art and design


• Music


• Theater and film


• Learning support coordinator (special education)

Qualifications for teachers

• Education degree from reputable higher learning institution


• Experience in teaching BNC/IGCSE system of education for not less than 5 years


• Teacher professional certificates


• Provide evidence of satisfactory performance in previous schools

Staff for support department

• Finance and administration officer: Must have a business degree and CPA(K) and 5 years of experience.


• Front office assistant administrator: Must have secretarial certificate and a diploma in management studies and at least 5 years of experience in managing a busy front office


• Marketing officer: Must possess a degree in business with a marketing specialization and at least 5 years’ experience in a marketing function


• Catering and housekeeping officer: Must possess a diploma in catering and house keeping and 5 years of experience


• Librarian: Diploma in library studies and 5 years of experience

Other necessary requirements for all vacancies

• Must be committed individuals passionate to work with students.


• Must be result oriented and of high integrity


• Must uphold high professionalism and character


• Must have a track record of good performance
