Traidcraft Exchange works for trade and climate justice. In South Asia and East Africa, we support farmers, workers and artisans to benefit from more sustainable and equitable trade, and in the UK we advocate and campaign for changes to business practices and government policy. It is an exciting time to join our organisation. Following a strategic review, we are embarking on a process of change to shift power to groups in the global south, and to rethink the way we work in the UK. We are committed to equality and providing a diverse and inclusive workplace. We particularly welcome applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in our sector, including disabled people and individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.

We are on the side of people who are most vulnerable in trade – marginalised workers and producers whose work goes unseen and whose voices go unheard. Our aim is to support the most vulnerable groups including women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities. We work in South Asia and East Africa to identify, support and invest in farmer associations, worker collectives, social enterprises and civil society organisations that are challenging the negative impact of mainstream trade and developing alternative business models that put people and planet first. We are looking for an experienced individual to join our team as Portfolio Quality & Impact Lead to help us develop our participatory approaches, methodologies, and tools to deliver and evidence our new approach. Are you someone who is looking for a new challenge to help #ShiftingthePower to communities and partners? Do you have a passion for participatory approaches, and the experience and skills on Participatory Grant making? If the answer is yes, we would welcome your application for this position, at this exciting time in our organisation.

The selected post holder can be located in any of the countries where Traidcraft Exchange is working.

· Responsible for holding the integrity of the ‘TX Approach’ from a quality control and brand perspective, while supporting teams to work flexibly with partners and communities, reflecting their contexts and realities.

· Able to work collaboratively across countries and cultures (Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, UK), and able to collate learning at a global level for internal and external audiences.

· An advisor to our policy & programme teams to co-create effective but simple indicators of success and ways of assessing progress against these with communities and partners.

· Someone who is able to network with other organisations following similar methodologies to learn and sharing learning, supporting and/or developing a community of practice.

· Excited by the opportunity to work differently, innovatively, creatively and flexibly.

· Willing to embrace challenges and contribute within a self-managed organisation.

· A self-starter, willing to take risks, learn from new ways of doing things.

You will have:

· A thorough understanding of, experience with, and commitment to participatory methodologies.

· A good understanding of Participatory Grant making
