AMIU invites applications for the following position in the University:


Job Title: Tutorial Fellow – Community Health Practice


Reporting To: Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs


Physical Location: Nairobi


1. Job Description


The holder of the job will participate in curriculum development and delivery in Community Health. Further, the holder will develop, fundraise and implement research and extension activities.


2. Main Duties and Key Responsibilities


 Participate in the development of curricula in Community Health
 Participate in accreditation and implementation of courses as per CUE guidelines
 Teach and supervise students
 Develop and carry out research studies
 Form and manage partnerships for advancing Community Health
 Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
 Mobilize resources to ensure sustainability of courses in Community Health


3. Academic requirements


 Masters in Public or community Health or related field from a recognized university
 Publication in peer reviewed journals as per CUE criteria
 Registered with relevant professional body


4. Experience


 Teaching experience in a recognized university level or research/industry
 Curriculum development and delivery
 Knowledge of CUE and regulator requirements
 Knowledge and experience in academic or industry settings
 Managing clients in his/her area of expertise
 At least two years’ work experience in a clinical setting
 Experience in use of ODEL methodologies of curriculum delivery


5. Qualities and Competencies


 Knowledge, skills and attitude of an ethical community health practitioner
 Excellent academic writing and language skills
 Professional student-centric approach to learning
 Commitment to quality, teaching, assessment and research.
 Ability to work independently
 Team player
 Leadership capabilities
 A strategic and critical thinker with ability to generate and grow new ideas
 Computer proficiency
