Vacant Position: Acounts Assistant

We operate through two divisions, Screen Printing and Embroidery Brand Solutions:


Job Purpose: Shadowing and aiding members of the Finance department as they perform their duties, that is with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.


Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Process and review financial data and to ensure the integrity of information within the financial SAP module, ledger reconciliation and data collection as required.

  • Daily reconciliation between bank and company accounts as well as handling daily receipts, monthly revenue intake sheets, spreadsheet files and inter-company reports and communications to the Finance Manager.

  • Ensure that all monthly transactions are accurately recorded, and they additionally assist the Finance Manager in updating revenue tracking sheets and processing payments.

  • Participating in monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting cycles and preparing monthly financial statements.

  • Assist in preparation of the annual report and financial statements.

  • Ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements

  • Participating in the review and development of sound financial policies, procedures and systems

  • Inventory Control- Stock count and variance monitoring.

  • Reviewing, verifying, entering and uploading invoices into system

  • Preparing, processing and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date

  • Preparing cheques for payment

  • Manage accounts payable (bill payments, petty cash, etc.) against vouchers and / or authorized supporting documents under the approval of the Finance Manager and receivables through cash / cheque in accordance with the organization’s financial policy in a timely manner.

  • Posting transactions to journals, ledgers and other financial records

  • Corresponding with vendors and responding to inquiries

  • Assist and support in preparation, filling & remittance of monthly statutory deductions in a timely manner i.e. PAYE, VAT,NSSF & NHIF

  • Supporting other accounting functions like invoicing

  • Maintain and upkeep records / filing for any statutory reporting / auditing.

  • Helping in stock – take at the end of the month

  • Compilation of Budget estimates and reports.

  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

  • Carry out physical inventory counts to address inventory levels on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis of supplies and purchases as and when needed and submits subsequent inventory reports.


Qualifications and attributes



  • Degree holder in Accounting / Finance / Commerce or related field.

  • CPA part II

  • Must possess a minimum of 1 (one) year’ working experience in a similar position.

  • Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

  • The candidate must be well organized, able to work independently, skilled at handling multiple tasks, able to meet deadlines and work in stressful situations.

  • Technical skills as required for data entry.

  • The ability to cope with a degree of pressure at peak times.

  • A logical and relaxed individual able to interact with a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures.

  • Must have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Proactive and energetic.

  • Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills with attention to detail.

  • High professional ethical standards.

  • Demonstrate diligence.
